Knowledge Sharing Platform

The City Museum in Braunschweig was founded in 1861 and focuses on the history of the city. It is one of the largest art and cultural museums in the country. Mercenaries from the city fought in 18th century wars in the Great Lakes, collecting items and returning home with them. 

Located in Ljubljana, Slovenia, the museum holds a large collection formed by the Bishop Friderik Baraga. Baraga was collecting, and directly commissioning works, in the Great Lakes in the 1830s, primarily in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Michigan.
