Introduction

Loosely woven bag made of knotted sinew, with leather ties at top. Collected by Lewis Henry Morgan (1840s).

Techniques or Format

Open weave bag made with knotted sinew. Four leather ties at top, each quarter inch. Originally painted with stripes in red.

Other Notes

Additional observations-- JJ: Sinew would be spliced in. Deer sinew can be a meter or more long. RP: Continuous weave in some way. JJ: Almost like how you might do a fish net?
