Introduction
Woman's leggings. Hodenosaunee, Seneca. From the Allegany Reservation, New York. Collected by Joseph Keppler and George Gustav Heye, and acquired by the National Museum of the American Indian in 1918.

Navy woolen cloth; red silken ribbon, size 11 or 12 opaque white beads; beige thread; black thread
Techniques or Format
Each legging is made from a single piece of cloth. Both have been sewn up the front seam, with a space of around 5cm left open at the bottom.
Dimensions:
39 × 2 × 0 cm
Condition:
Good. The ribbon is deteriorating in some areas, and a stain on one legging. There are a few small holes in the cloth.
