A single strand of purple and white shell wampum, with sections of double strands of purple beads in the middle. Strung on black twine, possibly cotton, with circular wooden stops at either end, possibly made of bamboo.
The single strand of splits into two strings of purple beads at regular intervals, separated by a single white bead. The accession record suggests it may have been restrung.
Provenance
Found unnumbered in the British Museum's Ethnology Department collections. Means and date of acquisition are unknown.
