Wampum string. From Northeastern North America, made between 1600 and 1850. Collected by English ethnologist Henry Christy, who donated it to the British Museum between 1860 and 1869.

White wampum, previously strung on a cotton string, now broken.
The wampum beads have drilled holes of various sizes. There are approximately 40 to 100 beads.
The irregular shapes of the wampum suggest an earlier date of manufacture.
