Techniques or Format

Pieces of birchbark that have been ornamented with quillwork and edged with woollen tape and possibly silk ribbon are sewn together with thread to form a wall pocket with two rectangular open box shaped containers.

Motifs and Patterns

Floral motifs ornament front and sides of wall pocket; two birds on the front of the top container.

Other Notes

There are remnants of ivory coloured silk ribbon which once covered edges of the two box containers, possibly the red tape covered the outer edge of the back panel - remnants of red visible at top.

Dimensions: 35 × 16 × 0 cm
Condition: Fragile - some tape and ribbon is missing; quillwork faded and some missing; seams on lower container have opened.
