Motifs and Patterns
top of handle decorated with hot file marks. Handle fluted in between top of handle and joint with spoon on all four 81.118-81.121.
Additional Context
AC: handle looks like birds, possibly a totemic emblem (could be eagle or sparrow hawk, Odawa dodems). These are made much like the way Anishnaabek draw birds on treaties.
Other Notes
Distinctive features of Cross Village spoons: flaring shape of handle where it joins the bowl (DP). This small ones are personal use.
