unidentified wood; babiche (sinew or gut); red or brown yarn; hide thongs
With wooden frames and two crossbars, these snowshoes have a tapered end and flat rounded toe. The netting is made of babiche that is fastened to the frame at the toe and tail sections with the selvage thong method, and at the foot sections through wrapping. Hide thongs are tied to the netting in the middle for securing to feet. Tufts of possibly brown or red yarn(?) decorate the snowshoes edges of the toe and tail.
