navy blue stoud, silk ribbons, top of skirt is a panel of black on black patterned cotton -- a diamond print, and a ribbon, doubled over to hold a draw string. drawstring appears to be a piece of mattress ticking. (ribbon: red,light blue, green, yellow, blue, bronze)

Techniques or Format

a sewn shut skirt yet made in a wrap around style. has a less expensive fabric at the top to allow gathering. Is quite large. Would have fit a large or pregnant woman. 1 panel of cloth with 1 seam which runs up the side of the print, a panel of ribbonwork applique
