hand sewn shirt, front has inset of cotton lace, downturned collar, placket with 3 buttons presently. buttons on the sleeve cuff. Has a back yoke with an ungathered panel sewn to it. Sewn to a flat panel. Front and back yokes are one piece with an inset with a strip of pleated cotton lace on each side of the opening. No shoulder seam. Sleeves set in. Pleats in centre of neck at the back. Straight bottom edge with side vents.
CMC card says this shirt worn now only by chiefs.
could have been made from the mid-19th century on.
