bright blue and red wool plaited sash. the central field in the two colours, with a border on each side checked in a smaller proportion. Fringes twisted and knotted, then braided for 26 cm. Construction, diagonal plaiting with interlocking. Diagonal plaiting with interlocking, where a change of colour takes place along the inner edge of the border, the threads of differing colours interlock and change direction. Where no change of colour occurs the thread from the field are worked out to the selvages. An unusual sash showing a full command of the technique. The yarns, although of good type and dyes, appear to be rather late in date.
