Description of Writing/Text

Deed of surrender transmitted to the Executive Council by the Superintendent General of Indian Affairs relating that the Chippewa Indians residing on the shores of Lakes Couchiching, Simcoe, and Huron had surrendered 1,150 acres of land, consisting of four islands; and stating the only conditions attached to the surrender are that a church shall be build out of the principal arising from sales, that they Tribe shall be provided with a copy of the treaty document, and that interest shall be paid annually to them. The Committee then recommended that the deed be accepted.
