Description of Land Sold:
Tract of land lies on and near to the said River Chenail Ecarte. That is to say, from the river St. Clair to the first fork on the south side Pakeitehewanse and from the said fork on the north side Wapissejunkissycawpowa, beginning at the said first fork where the Ottawa Village now stands and where the cast line of the lands purchased of us and other Indian Nations by the Crown in 1790 cammences and following the several windings of the said river up the stream to the River St. Clair; thence up the said River St. Clair following the several windings thereof to a hickory tree marked with a broad arrow, fifty lnks avove a small run being twelve miles and a half on a direct north course from the said fork; then east 923 Gunter’s chains; then south until it intersects the east line of the said land purchased as aforesaid, in the year 1790; then west following the said east line to the said fork, being the place where it begins. This tract of land includes all the woods and waters situated in it, and are granted to Alexander McKee, Esquire, on the behalf of King George III, and his heirs and successors forever. The Chippewa Nation cedes all claims, rights, and privileges to this land. The cost of the tract is 800 pounds Quebec currency, paid in various wares and goods.
