broad fringes alternate with thin fringes. RP says this is an unusual feature, quillwork: 1 quill (single quill) edging, zig zag stitching, alternating bands of red and black. Sewing and quillwork sinew (shinier, stiffer than thread), not thread

pouch for shot, possibily. Piece has evidence of wear, and a fold line. Could we test interior of pouch for shot residue.

no trade materials, suggests early. Anyting from early 18th through to 19th century. CMC catalogue suggests before 1800. Likely during mid-18th century period of "intense military encounter" from 7 years war through to American Revolution (RP).
