pouch
Tanned hide pouch with woven vegetable fibre and some porcupine quill work. The zigzag motif is strongly represented and well constructed. The top of the pouch is missing its drawstring closure, and there may have been metal cones adorning the bottom of the pouch, but they appear missing from the remaining quills.
The style reflects Eastern Great Lakes traditions and materials. Autumn Epple theorizes Huron-Wendat based on that.

Tanned hide; hide thong as drawstring; vegetable fibre, dyed black, red, and white; porcupine quills
The pouch is made of two panels, sealed with side seams. The vegetable fibre pattern is sewn at the bottom. Porcupine quillwork lines the bottom of the vegetable fibre, but many pieces are missing.
This is similar to GKS #864, which is in better condition. Based on how that pouch looks, this pouch may be missing metal cones with moosehair adornments that would have been attached to the missing quills at the bottom.
A similar pouch in better condition exists in the same institution under GKS ID 864. Autumn Epple believes based on style and materials it dates between 1700 and 1760.
