Made of leather, quill,wool: red or white.

Techniques or Format

Pouch decorated with two panels of quillwork on a green backing. Both panels have wool fringes which are quill wrapped. Outer fringes of pouch are quill wrapped.

Motifs and Patterns

Quill work pattern on both panels is a series of triangles and half triangles in black, orange and white. Although, the colours may have faded due to exposure to light and the process of time, and could have been much brighter, perhaps the orange was red.

Original and Subsequent Uses

Shot pouches were used by hunters to hold shot, gunpowder and percussion caps.
