The bowl and blade are made of metal that has been incised or possibly stamped(?). Pipe stem is made wood that has been carved into a flat rectangular panel, and a narrower octagonal shaft at the handle end that terminates into a small carved mouthpiece. Flat rectangular panel is ornamented with engraved motifs and blue pigment.
