pipe bowl
This carved catlinite pipe bowl is red-brown in colour, with a cylindrical shaped faceted bowl. This ancestor's neck is elongated and constricted, and has a small triangular-sectioned base pierced at the bottom, which GRASAC researchers suggest is shaped similarly to a Mi'kmaq style bowl. There is a semi-circle carving alongside the pierced base. This relative is currently located in the Detroit Institute of Arts.
