Introduction

Dark gray clay pipe with human figure on bowl and incised rings on stem and bowl. Collected by Dr. Oronhyatekha; acquired by the ROM in 1911 from the Independent Order of Foresters.

Motifs and Patterns

Concentric rings on the stem, human figure on bowl with single pierced ear. Human face has long nose. Above the brow: 5 incised rings, back of head also consists of 8 incised rings from bottom of his head until base of top rings. Spiral rings on stem to base of bowl.

Dimensions: 13 × 0 × 0 cm
Condition: Formerly broken, repaired with plaster; too well cleaned to determine use. Patina either from use or burnishing. White discolouration from viewer's perspective on the back of the bowl. Teeth marks on stem.
