Motifs and Patterns
This is an almost full figure portrait, very detailed, of a Cree leader, Pi-A-Pot. He wears an ivory colored Hudson's Bay blanket coat and is carrying a pump action Winchester rifle. His belt has loops holding bullets and a fringed pouch hangs from this belt. A long handled tomahawk hangs from the belt as well; it has an elaborated patterned shaft and loop at the end with a very clear geometric pattern.
