Octopus bag with embroidery, possibly 19th century.

Materials

Silk embroidery thread on lightly smoked caribou hide, pink polished cotton lining, glass beads, yarn tassels

Techniques or Format

Bag with four tabs depending from lower edge, embroidered in silk floss on both sides, different designs on each side

On-site researchers: did not study bag closely. Rae provided patterns to be embroidered
