Introduction

These relatives, a pair of moccasins, are of centre seam construction with woven panels of quillwork appliqued to front seam and cuffs. The moccasins are composed of deerhide, porcupine quills, glass beads, tin cones, and deer hair. Although the origin of the moccasins are uncertain, they have probable connections to the Great Lakes region and the Huron-Wendat. A museum label states that the moccasins were part of an "outfit, clothing, of medicine man, N. Woodlands."

This relative currently resides at the National Museum of Ireland.
