Introduction

Moccasins. Commercially tanned hide, the tanned side on the inside, lined in beige cotton with inset vamps covered in purple cotton fabric.

Materials

Commercially tanned hide, cotton, cotton fabric, black velvet, paper, glass beads.

Techniques or Format

Commercially tanned hide with the tanned side on the inside, lined in beige cotton, inset vamps covered in purple cotton fabric , black velvet cuffs edged with red woolen tape, where it is frayed you can see paper lining used to stiffen the cuffs, number 4 (?) glass beads

Other Notes

You can see the paper backing of the motifs through the beadwork, perhaps a sign of a less careful beadworker or a quicker production

Condition: Good, signs of wear on soles
