Introduction

This relative, a single moccasin, is composed of an inset vamp, blackened deerhide, silk ribbon, red stroud, and floral beadwork. Although not certain, records from the National Museum of Ireland indicate that there may be a connection to the lower St. Lawrence region. This relative is believed to have originated in the early 19th century.
