Introduction

These relatives, a pair of unlined mittens, are composed of black-dyed deerskin embroidered with moosehair, with fur (potentially rabbit) cuffs. The embroidery consists of floral patterns, including red and blue dyed threads. The origins of the mittens are not certain; however, they have probable connections to the Huron Wendat.

These relatives currently reside at the National Museum of Ireland.
