Materials

Made with moose hide, red fox fur, cottom seam binding, embroidery floss, red wool braid, flannel and thread.

Techniques or Format

Machine-stitched moose hide mittens are constructed with welt seams and fringes, lined with flannel frontshirt or blanket, and trimmed with red fox fur. Finished with red wool braid and the bilaterally symmetrical floral designs with central rosettes are embroidered with a fine chain stitch.

Motifs and Patterns

Flowers and leaves are outlined with a second colour.

Dimensions: 33.5 × 15.5 × 0 cm
Condition: Little evidence of wear.
