Description of Land Sold As Shown on Map:

The Chippewas of the Upper Reserve on the River St. Clair, in the County of Lambton, Canada West, in consideration of the advantages, benefits and anticipated profits to arise from the sale of a portion of their reserved land, do hereby surrender unto Her Majesty Queen Victoria, that parcel of land and premises, being a portion of their reserve in the Township of Sarnia, in the County of Lambton and Province of Canada, adjoining the town of Port Sarnia, containing 189 acres, and which may be otherwise known as follows: commencing at the north-west corner of the said reserve, at the intersection of its northern boundary (as laid down on the diagram hereunto annexed) with the water’s edge of the River St. Clair and adjoining lot number seventy-six in the front concession of the said Township of Sarnia; then south eighty-nine degrees east along the said northern boundary of the reserve on hundred and forty chains, to the present eastern boundary of the reserve; then south one degree west along the said eastern boundary thirteen chains and thirty two links; then parallel to the northern boundary north eighty-nine degrees west one hundred and forty-five chains, to the River St. Clair; then northward along the River St. Clair to the place of beginning. The land shall be laid out into town and park lots and sold to the best advantage for the benefit of the said Chippewa Indians and their posterity.
