Materials

tanned, smoked skin (oils/wear gives appearance in places of rawhide, but it is not)-- porcupine quills (green, bl ack, red, white, yellow, dark blue), beads (white, medium blue), small and medium sized tin cones with red-dyed (deer?) hair.

Techniques or Format

two pieces sewn with thread (vegetable fibre?), quillwork in double zig zag pattern. Virtuoso piece.

Motifs and Patterns

checkerboard motif. Unusual number of quill colours.
