This photograph is from the Princess Louise Album,containing 89 albumen prints, one of three albums bequested to Canada by H.R.H. Princess Louise. Photographs commemorating her years in Canada (1878-1882) as wife of Governor General, the Marquis of Lorne. Views of Rideau Hall, Government House, Ottawa; group portraits of skating and tobogganing parties; views of prominent Ottawa buildings; views of Quebec City; the Saguenay; San Francisco, California; and HBMS 'Comus'. Photographers include Alexander Henderson, Wiliam Notman, William Topley, Jules-Ernest Livernois.
