Common stroud, red with silk ribbon (black, yellow, green, red). Black ostrich feather "ears." Beads: small tile beads, size 8 in opaque white and greasy teal. Cotton or linen tape for chin ties.

Techniques or Format

Gusset with tailored seams on center bak bottom. Above the gusset There is a seam sewn with running stitch sewn inside a flap running the length of head with a 1 1/8 inch flap. Ther is manufactured ostrich tuft feather inserted inside the flap on top of head. Tow ostrich feather plumes on either side of head at point where ears would be. Ribbon extends beyond ribbon work beyond bottom and top of criss-crossing waves, each end split in two. Whole piece cut in shape with curve of head, cut away from face and with corners, uncharacteristic of Ojibwa hoods. Silk applique in long wave pattern, two strips (yellow and black) criss-crossing each other (same on each side). Waving lpattern also on edge of center front, both sides. Ribbon edging series of triangles in bottom edge and top flap.
