Six v-shaped panels of violet purple velvet, shaped to meet at pointed top; Panels separated by blue twill braid tape which covers seams; At apex is blue satin ribbon; Sewn to bottom edge of velvet panels is a headband constructed from cardboard covered with starched linen, with red cloth covering the linen; Border of blue satin around circumference; Mid-section of headband has raised or couched design of large, semi-translucent beads in yellow, red, blue and translucent clear beads applied with overlay stitch technique, with large tubular multi-facetted grey beads as accents; Most bead work has been applied over brown paper pattern, some paper remains; Designs consist of white leaves, clear and yellow buds with grey centers; at one end are two rectangular designs reminiscent of American flags; Border of two large opaque white bead rows; Red muslin lining goes halfway and is gathered at top; Sewn with heavy cotton thread.
