This ancestor is a pair of gshkidaasebzownan, garters, made from wool and glass beads. Blue, red, white, tan, and ochre in colour, this ancestor has linear blocks of colour along the centre of the garter, with box designs made from white beads interrupting the linear pattern. Along the side edges of this ancestor are blue and tan vertical ends, with white beads along the bottom. Along the top and bottom edges of the garters are loose wool strings of the linear block pattern. Some of these loose strings have the same white glass beads in a brick-lay or staggered pattern down the string. This ancestor is currently located in the Detroit Institute of Arts.
The garters are associated with Cross Village in Michigan.
