Grant of Land in South Algona Township
In consideration of one hundred and fifty-six dollars, the Crown granted unto the Honourable Alexander Campbell 1,561 acres of land located in the the Township of South Algona, in the County of Renfrew, to be held in trust for the Algonquin Band of Indians residing in said township.

Description of Land Sold:
In consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty-six dollars well and truly paid to the Crown, the Honourable Alexander Campbell was granted all those parcel or tracts of land situated in the Township of South Algona, in the County of Renfrew, containing one thousand five hundred and sixty-one acres, which said parcels of land may be otherwise known as follows: being composed of lots numbers three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, and ten in the ninth concession; and lots numbers five, six, seven, eight, nine and ten in the tenth concession of the Township of Algona, reserving an allowance for road along the banks of the Bonnechere River and Golden Lake, and free access to the shores for all vessels, boats, and persons. Campbell bought the land with the purpose of holding it in trust for the use, settlement, and benefit of the band of Algonquin Indians resident near Golden Lake.
