A pair of red wool trade cloth garters with applicated black cloth circles and beadwork decoration; probably of Choctaw origin; gift of consul "Kontschnitt" (prob. Johannes Kruttschnitt, who was appointed Prussian consul for New Orleans in 1868)

a rectengular wool trade cloth piece is bound with cotton twill tape; the dangling tape-ends were used to tie the garter; to the front are applicated three black cloth circles; beadwork in white seed beads; sewing done with cotton yarn
