Introduction

The fan is made of a gauze basis streched over a frame of wire with attached feathers and a birch bark handle; the handle is decorated with moose hair embroidery on both sides in floral and anthropomorphic style and with a stuffed bird (sparrow?) with inserted glass eyes in the center of the fan section. Probably made by Huron-Wendat for sale in the souvenir trade. Donated by A. Weber.
