A fan of rattan and feathers from the Six Nations of the Grand River, collected by Stewart Culin at the 1901 Buffalo Exposition. Now held at the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology.

Techniques or Format

The fan is made of woven rattan, with feathers attached to the upper portion. Yellow string is woven into the fan where the handle meets the body. A cord is looped through the bottom of the handle.
