This ancestor is an emkwaan, or spoon, possibly made from maple, of a red-brown colour with light polishing. The spoon is long and flat, with a curve at the spoon's base. Brown, slightly polished wooden spoon (maple) with shallow ovoid bowl. Handle is long and flat and has a partially articulated wing at the base. Finial has a rearward projecting ledge and a small barrel-shaped ornament carved on the top.
