A female cornhusk doll. Haudenosaunee, probably collected at Six Nations during the 1960s or 70s. Part of the Gertrude P. Kurath collection, it was acquired by the Woodland Cultural Centre from Ellen Kurath in 1994.
Kurath's collection is made up of Haudenosaunee material.

The doll is made from cornhusk and dressed in leggings, skirt and tunic, with an underskirt of lace. Beadwork embellishes her tunic and leggings. Black yarn has been used as hair, and it is done in two braids, both of which are tied with red and yellow fabric. Her moccasins are made of a material that is either hide or felt. She wears a necklace made of red and yellow beads.
The collector, Gertrude Kurath (1903-1992) was doing research at Six Nations for her publications on Haudenosaunee dance and music during this period.
