Anishinaabe wooden model cradleboard. Made by Joe Ettawageshik, Odawa, from Harbor Springs, Michigan in 1910. Label on the back written by Frank Ettawageshik in 1937 indicates that this is a reproduction of a model cradle that was once used as a toy by a young girl. The original is in the possession of the Ettawageshik family. Collected by Frank Speck.

wood, vegetable fibre cord (twisted), small nails (round head), hide thong (tied around rear crossbar as a hanging loop).
Made of carved wood. The hoop and the crosspiece are fixed to the board with small nails. Curved footrest is secured at the top with cord. There is a small additional crosspiece nailed on the back at the foot. Four holes are punched along the length of backboard. Pieces tied together with vegetable cord.
Serrated edges, triangles, possible four-quadrant image on curved footrest.
