Techniques or Format

Ball head war club of dark brown wood (maple?) stained darker in upper area. Thin handle and body stencil-cut with graceful silhouette; ornamental cutout in the upper handle; small piercing near the head; piercing near base with leather thong.

Motifs and Patterns

Shaft made of relatively thin flat wood with cutout motif of bar terminating in small circles at either end, and an outline of an animal biting the ball. Deer hoof at handle end with four indentations on bottom edge.
