Introduction

Beaded cap with floral motifs. Flaps are meant to stand up, resembling a priest's hat. Haudenosaunee.

Materials

Velvet, blue; silk, green; beads; metal sequins.

Techniques or Format

Four pieces sewn together, with four flaps at the top that would have stood up. The binding and lining are all in one piece.

Stylized floral motifs.

Trudy Nicks notes that this hat resembles a priest's hat.

Height measurement has been done with flaps up.

Dimensions: 22 × 18 × 12 cm
Condition: Good. Metal sequins are tarnished.
