Introduction

Canoe model made with birch bark and spruce edging. Adorned with porcupine quills that form patterns of stripes and chained diamonds. Collected by Johann Georg Schwarz.

Made with a single piece of bark folded and sewn around edges; the shape of the canoe has rounded ends, which is the style of miqmaq; the folding creates a flat bottom.

There are stripes and chained diamonds along the sides of the canoe.
