A ring of fancy geometric quillwork (star-diamond pattern) circles this scene, with the same on the sides, and sweetgrass trim stitched with multicoloured quills. Body: Two rows of fancy geometric quillwork (star-diamond pattern) separated by sweetgrass trim stitched with multicoloured quills (as on the lid). The base trim of both lid and body is stitched with thread instead of quill.
