Collection Narratives and Histories
This item was accidentally found around 1929 in a burial inside the church of the village of Nicola (Liguria).
It was donated as a curiosity to the local museum. The item has been in the local ethnographic collection for several years, then has been moved into the medieval archeological collection until the actual director of the museum, Rossana Piccioli, identified it as a Native artifact.
Two similar items are in the collection of the Museo di Antropologia e Etnologia di Firenze.
