This item is composed of a lid and container, held together by metal wire. Motifs are carved on the outside of both parts.

Provenance
This item was first held by the Regio Museo of Florence, and catalogued in their Appendice XII in 1802-03. In the Regio Mueso catalogue, this item is grouped with a similar item, and listed as "Due Cofani, del Canada' " (Two chests, from Canada). This item was part of the Regio Mueso's collection which was later absorbed by the MNAEF. In the MNAEF's catalogue, this item is listed on it's own, and listed as "Cofanetto di legno intagliato con coperchio. Degli Indigeni del Canada" (Small wooden carved chest with a lid. From Canadian Indigenous people).
