blue velvet; beige cotton or canvas; yellow and pink fabric; beige thread; seed beads (size 12) in opaque white, opaque yellow, opaque blue, clear, translucent red, translucent blue; sequins; possibly cardboard or paper.
Pieces of blue velvet cut and sewn together with thread to create the form of a bird. The body and wings are decorated with beads. Two strands of clear beads have been twisted together and sewn onto the bird to form a string from which it hangs. Two single strands of clear beads hang from below the bird and attach to either side of a small rod. From each end of the rod hangs a single strand of clear beads with a small fabric ball at the end, decorated with beads. One is pink and one is blue. A similar ball, in yellow, hangs from a stand of beads attached to the bird's beak.
