Beaded velveteen pouch with bird and flower moitf, flap closure. Made by unknown Haudenosaunee artist; bequest to Harvard University in 1995.

Brown velvet, lined with beige polished cotton, and partially lined at the opening with brown velvet. Glass beads. 3 different sized beads. Flower and bird made with size 11, smaller beads for borders. Possible metallic or brass beads - appear to be oxidized.
Pouch made with two pieces of velvet, the back is longer than the front and folds over to create a flap. Opens at the top. Ornamented with beadwork on the front, front flap and back. Beadwork appears to be slightly raised.
Birds and flowers on both sides.

Provenance
Bequest to the museum in 1995. Dr. William R. Wright left his estate to Harvard University, his Alma Mater, after his death in 1993. The peabody Museum received the collection in 1995.
