Beads, cloth
Raised beadwork. When worn, headdress would have had convex double curve in front and back. Actually looks similar to Glengarry style.
Berries and leaves
"90" in white ink on front and back - original Oronhyatekha catalogue number. "Oron" in black ink on back.
In Dr. O collection by 1904, and style is clearly typical of last quarter of 19th century (Ruth Phillips).
Dr. O catalogue records that this is the crown of an odaawa (Ottawa) ogimaa (chief) and therefore could have been worn during ceremonies.
