Created in 1996, the basket was made by Adeline Noack, a member of the Odawa Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians, Michigan; and the quillwork was made by Adeline's daughter, Lynn Noack, who was likely a member of the Oneida Nation, Wisconsin. Collected by Pieter Hovens during a field trip in 1996.
Museum documentation indicates: "Chippewa, Oneida Indian Reservation, Wisconsin". The basketmaker Adeline Noack was a member of the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians; and it is likely that her daughter, Lynn Noack was a member of the Oneida nation through Adeline's husband.
