Sweetgrass basket with a floral design embroidered in quills on birch bark lid. Bought by Ronald McDonald from Manitowaning, Manitoulin Island, Donor bought basket in 1919 from "Ottawa Ojibwa Indians."

A label in the basket states "Donated to museum by Mr. Ronald McDonald, Manitowaning, Manitoulin Island, 6 July 1961. Basket bought from Indians of ares (Ottawa-Ojibwa) 1919. Birch bark lid and base, sweetgrass walls, and lid decoration of porcupine quills." "Ronald McDonald Mani[toulin or towaning]" is inscribed on the bottom.
